Randomness

7 Comments/ 211/ 1

Every once in awhile I feel the need to do a random post and today is the day. Just a little bit of this and that. No real theme. Just fun. After yesterday’s kind of heavy post I need to lighten it up a bit, don’t you think?

First up – socks.

When we had Theo in December we drove him back to Chapel Hill to meet his parents. On the way he took off his shoes and socks and look as hard as we could upon arrival we just could not find them amidst the crushed up Chex and Cheerios. I mean we searched everywhere to no avail so he had to be carried into the house shoeless. Today as I was in my car I caught a glimpse of red by my drivers seat. There, where I have looked a hundred times, were the socks. Making their appearance after a month. Weird? Yes.

I’ve been reading a bit and trying to get some books under my belt, so to speak.

I recently finished listening to Finding Me by Viola Davis which was an exceptional book. I have always liked her acting and had no idea of the traumas that her life held.

I also recently read a book recommended to me by a friend, Loss: Poems to Better Weather the Many Waves of Grief by Donna Ashworth. I loved this book and it is going to become my go to gift for grieving friends.

Chris and I like to watch television shows together after dinner. It’s our “thing” lately and we have several that we have really loved watching. Some of our favorites are British detective dramas like Endeavor and Midsomer Murders. Currently we are deviating from our murder theme and watching Emily in Paris which is just a fun diversion and allows me to see Paris again.

This past weekend we went to Greenville to see Come From Away.– the musical that is based on the town of Gander, Newfoundland. The town was the place where planes were diverted to after the attacks on 9/11 and we absolutely loved it. Chris had recommended the book that it is based on to me years ago to read and it was one of those books that stays with you. The performance was exceptional and we both really enjoyed it.

So that’s what I have been up to lately. I hope that your day is filled with something extraordinary and that you feel joy and happiness. Don’t forget to leave me a comment and tell me what you are watching or reading –every comment means a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause — Asheville Cat Weirdos Emergency Vet Fund.

I’ve wanted to see Come From Away. Someday, I hope. Socks, no matter the age of their owners, have always been deviously elusive..

Why are socks so sneaky?! How can they outsmart us??
Always enjoy your book recommendations, and I know I’d enjoy the show. TV- yes, we generally watch a series after dinner. Currently watching Vikings! Always good to enjoy something with a lot of episodes. Have a great weekend.

Oh, the endless saga of socks. Missing completely, partner-less, and so on… It never ends, does it? 🙂

I’ve heard of dryers swallowing socks, but not a car. What an entertaining Theo story.

Theo’s sock story is one for the memory bank for sure. Chuck and I watch movies after dinner too.

Old Girls in Low Cotton
