Reaching Across the Miles

3 Comments/ 1384/ 0

Today I finally did something that I needed to do for a long time! Thanks to my sissy, Paula, who told me that she had written to her World Vision sponsored child I decided that I needed to uncover that stack of info about Martin and write him a letter. I had great intentions before. I had even taken the info packet and a letter sent to me from a community volunteer in his village along with me on vacation with full intentions of writing a letter. Well, it never happened. So today I made it happen.

Paula and I went to a Women of Faith conference in April and both of us picked little boys to sponsor through World Vision.
I chose this sweet 5 year old from Zambia who just is adorable. According to his letter he has one baby sister and likes football. Now I know that this may seem like a pretty insignificant thing to be reading about today but it is what is on my mind today. I don’t know if my sponsorship will really make a huge difference in the life of this sweet little boy but I hope it does. World Vision has been around for a long time and from all that I can read and learn about them –they do a pretty good job of linking people in need with aid. So if you have been looking for something to “invest” in maybe this is just what you are looking for! If the link above does not show up (still having issues with the links posting) just go to www.worldvision.com and check it out. Worth a couple minutes of your time for sure!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
