Sea Love on Teapot Tuesday

I find the best teapots at Homegoods.  I found this one several years ago and love it. Seriously.  Where else could you find a sea urchin teapot complete with bumps and barnacles for $9?  I love the colors and detail on this one.  It even had plates and sugar and creamer sets to match but I just got the teapot because it can stand on its own without needing anything else, don’t you think?

If afternoon teas had started in the Oligocene Epoch, instead of the seventeenth century, we are convinced that evolution, far from discarding that useful appendage, the tail, would have perfected it. A little hand would have evolved at the end of it — such a one as might hold his saucer, while a gentleman sips from his teacup. ~Contributors’ Club, The Atlantic Monthly, October 1917

HomeGoods is such a trap for me. I try not to go in too often because I always end up spending way too much money. Love this teapot though.

Another unique teapot. I’ve never been to a HomeGoods, don’t even know if they exist in MN. But the name of the retailer certainly sounds like a place I would enjoy.
