I am far from being a tea expert Although I love tea there is a lot that I do not know about this delightful beverage. . It is a good thing there are plenty of resources out there to help tea lovers. I happened upon the book Tea Sommelier by Gabrialla Lombardic on Amazon. I find myself browsing books there often as well as any book store that I happen upon and it is always fun to see what is available. I bought this book as a used book and when it arrived I was thrilled to leaf through it and see the beautiful text and illustrations.
Each page is better than the next. The illustrations are gorgeous, aren’t they?
At the back of the book there are a multitude of recipes that use tea as an ingredient. I was pretty amazed at some of the ideas that were presented.
Probably the most useful part of this book is the actual instruction portion that tells exactly what is needed to brew each different kind of tea.
Blooming teas are one of my favorites and reading this book made me real that I need to dig out my clear teapot and brew up some flowering teas asap.
The simplicity of the photography by Fabio Petroni captures the beauty of tea in a variety of ways. I had many favorite pages in this book but honestly the one below captured my eye.
Did you even know that there was a yellow tea? Well, now you do and I can tell you exactly how to prepare it.
How about this beautiful picture? It is a million times better in real life.
I loved reading about the type of puerh tea bricks that I got in China. Mine has been chiseled away but it was neat to see it featured in the book.
I finished reading the book and while I am sure I could not tell you every single thing I at least have a reference book in my stash should I need to check a fact.
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow as we will highlight a new Comments for a Cause and share how much we will be donating to our January cause –ASPCA. Thanks for faithfully commenting.

They didn’t really show up as well as I had hoped in the format of the blog but they are stunning. And they totally make the book complete. Glad you liked them. Simple and clean but striking.
Recipes using tea…. Mmmmm food for thought! 🙂
I know! It opens up a whole new world, doesn’t it?
Very informational and beautiful! Just started drinking tea regularly about a year ago, now I can’t imagine being without it! I see there’s so much more to it!
Welcome to the tea world!
This book is sooo great!! And I love bloomin teas too. I still haven’t found a clear pot yet, but I still brew them in a glass bowl for now. LOL When you want tea, it can’t wait! 🙂
My shelves are filled with tea books but this is still one I need to add to it! I loved seeing your photos/review. It’s going on the wishlist now 🙂

Yes. It is one that will stay on my shelf if not my table. I love it.
Looks like a nice coffee table book…hmmm, why do books not belong on the *tea* table? 🙂
