Teapot Tuesday

11 Comments/ 1780/ 0

I am a sucker for pretty teapots and I definitely have a lot that qualify as pretty in my collection.  I recently found an eBay listing for a daisy teapot that I could not pass up.  Daisies are my favorite flowers so I was sure that this one was going to be perfect for my collection.teapot

When the teapot arrived it was a really busy time so I didn’t even take it out of the box for a couple of weeks.  When I did unbox it I was surprised to find it all nestled in a cute  little box tied with a bow. teapot2

The teapot is on the smallish side and when I unboxed it I was surprised at how beautifully crafted it was.  teapot3

I really don’t think it looks much like a daisy but maybe more of a chrysanthemum type flower but regardless it is one of my favorite teapots in my collection now.

Just look at that butterfly lid.  It is delightful, isn’t it?  teapot7

I think you can understand how I fell in love with this little darling once I unpacked it. teapot8

The effect of tea is cooling.
As a drink, it suits very well persons of self-restraint and good conduct.
When feeling hot, thirsty; depressed, suffering from headache,
eye-ache, fatigue of the four limbs, or paints in the joints,
One should drink tea only; four or five times.”

Your teapot is a work of art and I really like how you ended with the quote about the art of drinking tea.

Thank you Bernadette. This one really is a work of art. I don’t know if I will ever actually brew a pot of tea in it but it certainly is one of my favorites now.

The flowers, and butterfly, are REALLY very well done! It’s a keeper, I think!

It is stunning in real life. I really could not capture how stunning it is with my camera lens this time but it is so unique.

This one looks just beautiful. Someday I need a tour of your teapots in person!

That would be my pleasure. Although many are packed away….I do have quite a few out on display. 🙂

It is beautiful, perfect for a garden party. But those definitely are not daisies. Could be, as you say, mums, or dahlias.

Dahlias is another good guess!. But definitely not a daisy–we know our daisies, right?

I don´t think it looks like a daisy but it is beautiful! I love the butterfly lid. It looks like it should be in a garden. More decorative than functional but a fabulous addition to your collection. The quote is perfect.

It does. It is far prettier than what I originally thought it would be judging from the picture on the listing.
