Teapot Tuesday – Urchin Style

26 Comments/ 3239/ 0

I find the best teapots at Homegoods.  Seriously.  Where else could you find a sea urchin teapot complete with bumps and barnacles for $9?  I love the colors and detail on this one.  It even had plates and sugar and creamer sets to match but I just got the teapot because it can stand on its own without needing anything else, don’t you think?

If afternoon teas had started in the Oligocene Epoch, instead of the seventeenth century, we are convinced that evolution, far from discarding that useful appendage, the tail, would have perfected it. A little hand would have evolved at the end of it — such a one as might hold his saucer, while a gentleman sips from his teacup. ~Contributors’ Club, The Atlantic Monthly, October 1917

Wow!1 A sea urchin teapot! How adorable. Yes, it stands on its own just fine. It also fits in your collection nicely.

It is beautiful! I love the color too. I sure wish we had a Home Goods nearer us than what we do. I think the closest one is 45 minutes to an hour away. Oh, wait….maybe that’s a good thing!

Beautiful teapot, at first I thought it was handmade! Homegoods is like a treasure hunt, isn’t it?!

Oh it is a treasure hunt. And they are all different so I always try to go whenever we travel because they cater to different locations and there is always something different to look at!

This is exactly the kind of thing I need for the Fairy Garden I am creating with my girls!!! Our fish aquarium sprung a leak (not fun!) and we bought a new one, but I didn’t want to just throw the old one in the dump — so Bingo idea: Fairy Garden! And it needs some fairy houses. I was thinking a little teapot would be perfect.
And it’s so funny – as I have been going through little antique shops and yard sales, every time I spy a tea pot- I think of you! 🙂

Oh I have a couple fairy gardens! One has a beach theme (imagine that) and the other one has a little teapot and tea cup and slice of cake on a silver platter on it. Your aquarium idea is a great one! Glad you think of me when you spy a teapot. It seems like everyone does now. 🙂

This teapot is dreamy! Reminds me of shells I used to collect as a kid in Florida.
