The Fashions of Downton Abbey – Biltmore Exhibition

5 Comments/ 556/ 1

The Downton Abbey Exhibition at The Biltmore is a pretty wonderful addition to the estate. The special Exhibition opened November 11,2019 and runs through April 7,2020. If you are able to go visit during this time I would highly recommend stopping in both of the areas where the exhibition is featured. An interactive exhibit is housed at Amherst in Deerpark and another exhibition featuring many of the costumes from the television series is at The Biltmore Legacy in Antler Hill Village.

Admission to the Amherst exhibition is included in the admission price when you visit the house but passholders have to pay $20 to gain access . It is well worth it and I was thrilled to be able to go see all of the interesting displays and pictures. The costumes that I am featuring today on It’s Just Life are all located in the Antler Village location which does not require a ticket for admission. That makes it the perfect stop if you are a passholder and just popping in for the day to shop or eat and hike. I will definitely be going back several times to see the costumes because they are just so fun to look at.

Several wedding dresses featured in the show are in this exhibition.
I loved this display of hats.
More wedding dresses.
So elegant.
Probably my favorite dress in the collection.

This is just a sampling of the costumes on display and I am anxious to go back and see them again. The exhibit is so well done and being able to see these costumes is a real treat. For more information about the exhibition click here to go directly to the spot that will give you more information.

Leave me a comment about which costume I shared today is your favorite. All comments this month mean a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause – Project: Music Heals Us.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
