The Perfect Day

7 Comments/ 211/ 0

Some days are more perfect than others and lately Chris and I have been comparing notes on what perfect days we have had together. One that stands out is a day in Australia when we walked for hours at low tide. There were tons of neat things just waiting to be discovered and it was magical.

My birthday on Wednesday was another example of a magical day. The weather was perfect and I had so many cards, Facebook messages, phone calls, texts and video calls. After two shots in the arm I finally feel like we are turning the corner and things are lightning up a bit.

The thing is – I have so many great friends from all stages of my life and that was just made so clear to me again on this birthday. From grade school friends to friends from our days in Australia, from family friends to church work friends to blogging friends – there are people that have touched my life over my 61 years and the feeling is a bit overwhelming. Overwhelming but wonderful. I am so very blessed.

After a day of well wishes, gifts and lots of love Chris and I went to one of our favorite restaurants in Hendersonville called Never Blue. They never disappoint and we were able to get an outside table where we dined in style and had another delightful meal including dessert.

Dinner was fabulous with tapas and a delicious dessert.
This guy was blowing huge bubbles on the street when we walked around afterwards.
It was so fun to watch and part of my magical night.

Birthdays are not always easy but being surrounded by family and friends certainly helps make growing another year older easier. Thank you to each of you who reached out to me –it was truly appreciated.

I think a good meal always helps to make a day magical, add some nice weather, outdoor fun and it’s close to perfect. I think my most magical days are spend outdoors – walking for miles along the beach shore, hiking in the mountains, finding road- side waterfalls, seeing new babies in their nests at the wetlands… yup, those are definitely some of my faves. 🙂

It sounds like you had a fabulous birthday. So happy for you, my friend. And so happy we met those years ago when you lived closer, just across the border in Iowa. I treasure the in-person time we had together and our continuing friendship.
