Not too many people are talking about the positives of 2020, are they? Let’s change that and come up with a huge list of positives of 2020. I will start and then I expect YOU to add to the list in the comment section.

One. Streaming options of things to watch have seemed to have blossomed and there is never a lack of something fun to watch. Chris and I just finished up watching Endeavor (all 8 seasons). I am rewatching Call the Midwife which I stoped watching a couple seasons ago so I still have new episodes to watch.
Two. Increased letter writing and phone calls. I have tried to up my number of real letters written and I know I have received a lot more than I usually do so I think there are others who are doing the same. Nothing like a card in the mail to bring a smile to my face. Of course I have had more time to make cards as well which makes me happy.

Three. More time with my husband has truly been a blessing. Limited traveling for him means more time with me and we have made the most of it. We have discovered a lot of great little trails and places to visit locally that have made us feel like we are still traveling. Even if it is just looking out our backyard it reminds us of how much we love time together.

Four. I have been reading and reading and reading some more. Early on during the pandemic I found it difficult to concentrate on reading but then I somehow managed to kick that lack of concentration and I have enjoyed reading a lot of really great books. My bookshelves and Kindle overflow with options. How wonderful.
Five. I see a lot of people joining together to support one another. I have been so happy to be a part of several fund raising efforts for our community and have another one coming up the first weekend in November. It feels good to give back to others especially when the need is so great. I have found several like minded friends and that makes all the difference. We put a plan together and set egos aside and just work on the project at hand.

Six. We have discovered a new appreciation for those who serve others. From health care workers to those in the restaurant business to small business owners of all types – people have rallied behind them and supported like never before. My hope is that that does not end once the pandemic is over.
Seven. More MAKSIM! Being home most of the time means more time with my beautiful Siberian kitty and we all know how much I love that.

Okay -those are mine off the top of my head. Now it is YOUR turn. Tell me what is one of your positives that has come out of 2020? Leave me a comment and Comment for a Cause for In the Pink.

Leave a commentThis is lovely. I’m struggling at the moment, so it was nice to read about something postivie.
Thanks, Dawn! Hang in there! You could add your lovely painting to our list— what a blessing that has been to the recipients!
I took time to reorganize those years of pictures and mementos that were filed away in plastic tubs moving from place to place. It gave me an opportunity to reflect on those places I lived, the people who I met, and those sites I enjoyed . These are part of my life. Some were painful and the loss took on a different dimension. Some not so serious but brought joy and new intentions to go out there and have some more good times.
That’s a great thing to spend time getting organized! And motivated for more good times!
Fantastic idea! Your list sounds like my life. Let’s see what else- I talked to my kids and saw them much more. I started playing the piano again! And so how- the year is going by!
Playing the piano is a great positive! Thanks for sharing!
One of my big positives is that I definitely have had much more time for reading and already passed and reset my reading goal for 2020. It’s been great. And the other thing is that since I’m home again and the girls are home doing school virtually we’ve had so much time together and it’s been great to share so many great moments with them.
I love both of these! Definitely positives! Thanks for sharing!
You listed so many great positives that I agree with. Here are a few to add to the list.
1. Spending more time with my dog. We take longer walks now.
2. Uninterrupted time to write
3. Time to help other writers
4. Trying new recipes
5. Reconnecting with long time friends on social media, some from a long time ago!
5. Making new friends on social media
Love your additions to my list!!! Thanks!
As we get more weary because of how long this has continued. it’s more important than ever to focus on the positives. Thanks for reminding us.
It is important to stay positive!!!!
Mine is definitely a deeper appreciation for God’s beautiful natural world. I’m spending more time outdoors than ever. And, like you, I also appreciate our many essential workers and that they are finally being valued. Thank you for sharing your positive list.
Thanks for adding to the growing list— nature is a very good thing!
I have a friend who has posted every single day since quarantine began. She posts the positives from each day. It’s wonderful and uplifting. She has said that the Internet is already full of negatives and her life is not all ribbons and rainbows but she chooses to only share the good things.
What an inspiration! Once you start looking for the positives it is harder to see the negatives .
Time to just “be” outside, not just on the way in or out. Time to notice all the sights and sounds. Even the ([email protected]&? Squirrels!
Perfect! Love your positives!
You have some great 2020 positive things, Beth Ann. I am afraid I have not been as positive. But I keep trying..
