There’s Still Beauty in the Gardens

8 Comments/ 95/ 0

Gardens don’t always look great in the winter months even in the South.   But you just never know what you are going to find when you walk around the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens outside of Dothan, Alabama.  You might have seen my post yesterday ( where I asked my readers to use their imagination and imagine the gardens all lit up with lights as part of their Gardens Aglow.   Today I decided that I needed to show you some of the beauty that I discovered as I walked around.

I found a few stragglers blooming in both the rose garden and the camelia garden.  While they weren’t as beautiful as they once were it was nice to see pops of color in the brown and fading green backdrop.

Ornamental cabbages have always been favorites of mine and the gardens showcase a nice selection in various places.

Naturally the best flowers and interesting plants to photograph were found in the tropical garden greenhouse area.  Who can resist some of these beauties?

There is beauty all around and my trip to Dothan Area Botanical Gardens did not disappoint me.  I love how there is always something new to discover with each visit.

Of course I had to visit The Little Free Library and drop a few books off since the inventory was a little low.  Merry Christmas to some readers who might pass by.

Where do you go to find beauty in the winter?   I would love to read your answers in the comments section.  All comments mean a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause for December — Knox Blocks Foundation.

Love botanical gardens… so fun to photograph and enjoy. There is one in Naples that’s absolutely glorious. A few years ago, I went with my mom and girls when they had this LEGO installation. It was beyond cool.

Oh, I would so enjoy this garden. You got some wonderful shots of those indoor flowers and plants.

The Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul is a wonderful place to escape winter in Minnesota. But you better like crowds because lots of people seek out the warmth and beauty here in the winter.

Still looks lovely. We are lucky to have flowers and colour all year here in Spain.
