This One Has Feet – Teapot Tuesday

6 Comments/ 97/ 1

I love finding quirky teapots and one that I have had my eyes on for awhile is a style by Carlton that has legs. I have seen several for sale on eBay and have never wanted to spend the money on them as they all seemed rather pricey after shipping was added on. But a teapot with legs and feet is pretty fun, isn’t it?

I already have a creamer and sugar set that has little feet on them and I thought the perfect teapot to accompany them would be a similar one. I was thrilled to find one on Etsy that fit the bill and that was handmade by an artist and not one that was just mass produced by a machine. Actually the artist from Thailand who made it messaged me and said it would be slightly delayed because he was not happy with how the feet turned out and was making a new one. Thanks to Walking Pottery for making this perfectly lovely 2 cup teapot.

I even love the bottoms of the feet, don’t you?

Here are a couple pics with my adorable sugar and creamer set.

So there you have the latest teapot acquisition. A pretty cute one and a great transaction with a seller from Thailand. You never know where I am going to find the next teapot so stay tuned.

“There were ceramic teapots in aubergine, mustard, and midnight blue (good for one, sweeter still when shared between two drinkers); and forty small, thin glasses with curved handles, set in gold- and silver-plated holders etched with arabesque swirls. Bahar gingerly lined the tea glasses up on the counter where the cappuccino machine had been stationed. She tucked the teapots into the counter’s glass-paneled belly, where they sat prettily next to twenty glass containers of loose-leaf teas, ranging from bergamot and hibiscus to oolong.”

This set is now complete and so adorable. I love it when an item is handmade by an artist! And one from Thailand is especially special. Feet on a teapot, who would have thought!!
