What’s Outside Your Window?

21 Comments/ 3267/ 0

Tell me. What’s outside your window?  Is it green and leafy where you live?  Are the flowers popping out?  Is the wildlife everywhere or do you live in a place of tall buildings and views of a city?

I love seeing what others post around their home.  There are so many different types of beauty and I guess I am able to see the beauty in all kinds of things and that is a gift that I gladly accept.  Cities are beautiful. Farms are beautiful. Buildings and structures of all kinds are beautiful if I just take the time to look and find those extraordinary pieces of them.

I have shared many pictures of our new home and surroundings on the blog over the past 8 or so months and bear with me because I will continue to share.  I am just in love with where we live. Last night I was sitting on the back porch just taking it all in.  I am so blessed.

So today sit back and view a few pictures from out my windows and doors.  When you are finished describe to me what you see out your windows and doors in the comment section. Each comment means a 50 cent donation to SAFE.  You can read more about that here. goslingsLook how big Gertie and George’s babies are getting!  They are losing their yellow fluff and eating eventing in sight. Did you know they like dandelions?  There is nary a dandelion in our yard thanks to my natural weed eaters.
geeseBrevard is known for their white squirrels  but I don’t have any of those in my back yard.  I do have these guys who are pretty cute.squirrel2

A look out the front door and I have my plants all ready to go.  I am not putting much out because of my wildlife friends who tend to use flower beds here as personal salad bars but I am putting out some hanging baskets out of reach.front porch

I made a beach themed fairy garden for the front porch and while it still needs a bit of rearranging to make it like I really want it it is a start.  What do you think?fairy garden3

The back yard is getting green and the trees are almost fully leafed out now.back yard3

And of course I have my favorite fisherman on the dock occasionally. ChrisI even have a few herbs planted on one of the side porches.  Hopefully well out of reach of the deer but we will see. herbsSo what’s out your window or door?

You do live in an enchanted place and I can see why you are so in love with it. Those goslings sure are growing fast! Outside my front window I see a palm tree and a lemon orchard. It has been abandoned by the farmer which is too bad but there are still many shrubs and greenery. There are parakeets flying about and I can hear a cuckoo bird, nightingales, a word pecker, and peacocks. Sometimes they fly onto my terrace. One day we saw two egrets sitting on the wall separating our street from the wooded area. Magical.

You described your view so perfectly I feel like I am sitting on your front porch/stoop listening to those parakeets and other birds. The lemon orchard looks a little sad to me since it is abandoned. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your view with me.

The window beside my desk looks out on my neighbors house about 15 feet away. But there are hollyhocks coming up. I actually peer through my banana tree and meyer lemon tree which are in pots on my desk. Over the roof of her house I can see the tops of trees and the bright, blue Montana sky. Out the front window, it looks up a side street, directly into the ‘hills’. There is enough of an elevation gain to see snow up there, while we have none 6 blocks away!

What a great view! I love that you have all that to look at and you described it so aptly that I could see it all clearly. Hollyhocks are one of those flowers my grandma used to have! I have found memories of them growing at her farm.

No wonder you love your new home so much. It really looks like Paradise.

My favorite view at my house is out the back door and just off the patio, where I look to the wooded hillside. Otherwise my view is primarily traffic and neighbors’ homes.

However, I do create vignettes of flowers to paints splashes of color and nature in and around my house. And those are lovely.

I love your little oasis in the back and I would be out there all the time enjoying it and reading and just taking it all in. It really is a sweet spot and I loved being able to sit and enjoy conversation with you and Randy there. There is just something about green leaves and beautiful flowers painting the landscape that calms the soul.

Those planters are actually tin with a chalkboard part to write the labels on and wait for it….got them at Tractor Supply Company while I was looking at Hoover’s Hatchery chicks!!! This was about a month ago so not sure if they would still have them or not. I am wishing I had gotten another set.

My back yard is full of big oak trees. From my seat at the kitchen table I can see hummingbirds at their feeder, songbirds at another feeder and my comfy anti-gravity chair that I love to sit in when I have time. I can hear lots of bird songs. Quite often there’s a squirrel eating the dropped seeds that are on the deck. The occasional chipmunk visits too. My daughter’s cat loves to watch all this activity. From my bed, which overlooks the back yard, all I can see is leaves and branches. It’s a lovely view.

You do have a lovely view. I love oak trees and we have a lot of maples so we have a lot of “helicopters” all over the place. It really is fun to watch how the scenery changes with the seasons even if we don’t have hard winters in NC we still have seasons and I love that. Thanks for stopping by!

You have a gorgeous yard. Ours looks similar but no water & we have plenty o’ dandelions. Looks like we could use some geese. 🙂

You have a beautiful and enticing place there…I believe I’d be out fishing most mornings! Sitting on my back porch I am always entertained by many birds as they wait their turn at the bird feeders. Then there’s those fast and pretty hummers, darting around the feeders. All our trees are now showing off their new coats of gteen, so pretty…My beautiful red lillies have finished their lovely show…now waiting on a few more iris to do their thing. It’s always peaceful to sit and watch nature at play.

Your view sounds amazing to me. I have a couple of hummingbird feeders up but on a few sightings so far —I think they are going someplace else right now but that is okay. I have the most brilliant gold finches and cardinals visiting my feeders right now and I love to watch them as well.

I like you view much better than mine. So much nature and I love your chairs!! That’s the problem with living in a suburban setting….I look out my front door and there are 4 house across the street. Look at any of my windows…. there’s another window looking back. Ugh. I would really love a spot in the country. But, soon my garden will be growing more than Spring flowers, so at least the view from my back door will be lovely!

What a beautiful sight outside your window — from the bright rockers to the furry, feathered, and rooted friends.

Outside my window are rocks and roses, a picket fence, a cottage, a barn, and a forest of trees. It’s paradise.
