A Day Away

9 Comments/ 82/ 0

Whew! I have been working at the AAUW Used Book Sale since last Tuesday in some form so I decided I needed to take a break on Tuesday of this week. Chris and I planned a little trip to one of our favorite places — Greenville, SC. It is under an hour to get there and it is just a nice little trip for the day.

However….it was projected to be a really. hot day with a chance of thunderstorms so we decided to do the downtown early and then hit a museum after lunch so we wouldn’t be out in the heat. It was a good move and while it didn’t rain on us, it was very hot. Our car read 99 degrees. Whew.

Our first stop was a place that even though it has a different name than the last time we visited is still the same great food and atmosphere. Located right on Main Street this is one of our favorite spots in Greenville.

Cute decor and as you can imagine, Bonjour Main specializes in crepes. Last time I got a sweet selection of Nutella and bananas and this time I went for a more savory selection of bacon, egg and potato with a lovely sauce. It was delightful.

After breakfast we walked around the downtown a little bit and enjoyed just being outside. We really only went into one shop – the bookstore, of course.

The great thing about Greenville is that they have created a really lovely downtown area with a lot of statues, art, and places to sit and enjoy the day. It is very walkable and visitor friendly and the day we were there it was not crowded at all and we were able to just take our time walking and enjoying things.

Of course there is Falls Park on the Reedy which is just lovely.

If you are ever in the area you must visit downtown Greenville. This is just a very small example of what you can enjoy. Come back tomorrow when I hope to share a bit more about our day away.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you are staying cool. Leave me a comment and remember that all comments made on the blog this month mean a 50 cent donation to our Comments for a Cause — Uvalde Victims Relief Fund.

I can see now why two of my daughter’s college friends love living in Greenville! Looks like a wonderful place to visit – even just for a day. Glad you had a nice time.

I very much like Greenville. The art. The bookstore in that amazing, majestic building, the cafe, the falls. All lovely in every way.

Rather too far for me to come for a day. But I loved wandering around with you. I also love the door that is a copy of the one in Florence. At least I assume it’s cop it from Florence. Is it?
