A Few of My New Favorite Teas on Teapot Tuesday

21 Comments/ 113/ 1

Tea.

Glorious tea.

Of course my readers are well acquainted with my obsession with teapots and all things teapot related.

To use a teapot you need proper tea so today I am going to share a bit of my new loves.

At Christmas I was gifted several new to me types of tea and today I thought I would share a few of the ones that I have tried and loved.

Now anyone who drinks tea knows that not every tea is a favorite.  I am not a huge fan of green tea – I have to be in the right mood for it – but I have never found a tea that I absolutely hated.  With that being said I have to rave about these 4 teas today.  They all hit it out of the park for me.

First up is a wonderful blend called Up North that my good friend Jeni (JeniEats) sent me.

It was such a lovely surprise to find this in my mailbox and even though the description made me think it would just be a mess of pine needles (not really) I was delighted to find that it is a refreshingly minty tea.  I love mint and this one is so soothing and comforting it has quickly become my go to evening cuppa.   I started following the company Well Rooted on Instagram and love their posts.  I would urge any Minnesotans to seek this one out if they have a chance.  Lovely and light it suits me.

Next up is a trio of teas that my dear Mr. Diamond gifted me.

I had not heard of the company before (I think he found them on Amazon and I found out they are one of Oprah’s favorites) but when I opened the package it was delightfully presented in a lovely green box.   The tea containers contain a generous amount of each tea and the different flavors of chai are surprisingly good.

First up is my favorite of the trio – Ginger Chai.  I love ginger and the combo makes a slightly spicy and refreshing brew. The hunks of ginger add texture and body to the blend and I have loved having a cup of this after dinner.

Next in the trio in preference has to be Maharani Oolong.  I am a huge oolong fan and this one is just delightful.  The spiciness of the chai comes through and it brews up into a delightfully colored tea.

The final tea is Sweet Cinnamon and lives up to its name. Sweet, cinnamon and more what I would expect from a chai it makes my tastebuds happy.

I love finding new teas and have resolved to make it a priority to clean out my tea cupboard which is now spilling over into that cute card catalog I bought this summer.   Some of the teas I used to love are not my favorites anymore so I need to share them and reduce my stock.  Any takers out there?

If you are a tea drinker what is your favorite?  Did you get any tea for Christmas?  Any kind I need to know about?   Tell me all about it in the comments and Comment for a Cause – Dementia Society of America.  Each comment this month means a 5o cent donation.

All of these teas sound amazing. I love Chai and the one with ginger sounds almost too good to be true. I got some tea for Christmas too. A lovely Chocolate Rooibos and a champagne and strawberry green tea. Both very yummy. So many great teas out there!

I’m so happy you liked it! I wouldn’t want to drink a pine needly tea either-was happy to find it smelled like mint. I found the vendor at a cool holiday market in Minneapolis. Thanks for the recommendations!

It is soooo good! I absolutely love it and it just makes my whole body feel so lovely after I drink it so that has to be a good thing, right? Thanks again.

My favorite it is red tea. It doesn’t have the caffeine, but I love the taste of it. It is good cold or hot. Jasmine tea is another good one. Since I am just in the throes of bronchitis and a sinus infection, that hot water option on the coffee pot has been getting a work out: nothing better than a good cup of tea when you’re feeling down.

I thought of you when I opened the present because of your love of chai. You need to come over for a cup before I drink it all!!!

Oolong! I had forgotten that tea. I used to LOVE that when I was in college…OK, that was in the 70s but still, I bet I still would love it! I’ll have to go find some.

They all sound good, especially the minty one. I’m partial to mint teas, but like so many others as well with the exception of Earl Grey tea. I can’t really put my finger on why I don’t like it, but I just don’t. I have some Australian teas (from our friends there) in my cupboard that I need to try soon.

It’s debatable if I will retain my sanity. Very debatable. Good to see you around town here on the interwebs!

My daughter gave me for Christmas some loose-leaf Butterscotch Black Tea from Angelina’s Teas in Winston-Salem. It has a cozy, satisfying flavor, especially with milk and sugar. Of course that could be because I like the color butterscotch and butterscotch is my favorite pudding.

Hmmm–butterscotch tea? I bet that is yummy with milk and sugar for sure. I will have to look up that company the next time I am in Winston Salem. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and to leave me a comment, Roberta. That means a great deal to me.
