Our recent trip to New York City had us pounding the pavement and seeing a lot of wonderful places and things. I am still amazed at how well the trip went and how truly wonderful each part of it was. The one thing I really wanted to do was to go visit The Morgan Library and Museum. Having recently reread The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray, a wonderful historical fiction novel about J. P. Morgan’s personal librarian, Belle da Costa Greene , I really wanted to see where she worked and some of the collection that she curated. There will be another post on that later but because today is Teapot Tuesday I wanted to share a related post.
The Museum has an amazing gift shop (every place we visited did) and I was tempted to buy a lot more than I did but I reined myself in and bought a mug and some tea that was specially created for Mr. Morgan.
I brewed a cup of the tea and it is a man’s tea without a doubt. It has a strong smokey aroma and taste and is very strong. It will not be one that I drink very late in the day as I suspect the caffeine amount is pretty high but I could be incorrect on that. It is always fun to try new teas and find ones that are different. This probably won’t become a favorite and I am glad I bought a small amount.
So what are you drinking today? Do you have a favorite tea that is gracing your table today? I would love to hear about it in the comments and remember to Comment for a Cause for Copeland Oaks Library.

A great mug. The tea would be too strong for me. A friend brought me a tin of Countess Grey tea from Fortnum and Masons in London. I just love it. It is a mild orangey flavoured Earl Grey, perfect for a summer’s afternoon.
JP Morgan! Those were the days!
My older sons has recently begun exploring teas and I think he would like this flavor.
Glad you had a wonderful trip!
It seems very manly! You may get a package if I decide it’s too much for me!
A “man’s tea.” Now that’s a term I’ve not heard, although I know very little about tea.
Love bringing home treasures like this that remind me of special trips and fun adventures. 💕
Well today I’m drinking Snapple zero sugar peach tea! LOL Not exactly a specialty tea! My favorites are Oolong and Earl Grey. Or Gray. Can’t remember how that is spelled. But you know what I mean. I love NYC, glad you had such a great time!
I’m not fond of strongly flavored tea, so I’m sure I’d join you in not having this “manly tea” too often! Interesting though. Glad you had a great time in NYC.
I just love reading about all your adventures!
I love a smooth mild tea sometimes a fruity taste. Do not think I would like strong tea, love the Mug!
