Cyclone Hamish is on his way…..

Leave a Comment/ 946/ 0

On Friday I played all day which was fun!!! Went into town and was going to go do some errands and stuff but ended up having coffee with Ann and Janette, lunch with Ann and Janette and coffee with Ann and Janette!!! It was awesome!!! They have become good friends in a short time and we get along great so it was nice to spend the day with them again! Ann is on the left here and Janette on the right. I am sure they will be thrilled to be on my blog now and famous!!!!

The cyclone season is still upon us and Cyclone Hamish was a category 2 and is now a few hours later a category 4!!! Fortunately for us I do not think it is going to come near to us but will go south of us more in the Mackay region of Queensland. Of course that is where we have been trying to get to for over a month!!! So our trip a week from now maybe off again depending on what happens with this cyclone and how much damage there is. Chris was commenting that that was the one area that had not had as much damage to the sugar cane crops as the others had so maybe now it is its turn which is really too bad. Not a good year for the sugar cane farmers or anyone in the sugar industry.

We took a walk on the beach tonight and enjoyed watching the waves come crashing in. One of my dog buddies joined us and was fetching the coconuts that I was tossing at him and he was having such a great time. Chris took a video and if I can ever get the video part to work on this blog again I will post it sometime. it really was cute—he was having a great time.

We also actually sat out on the veranda a little bit tonight without getting too eaten up by mozzies. The scary thing is that there have been 70 + cases of dengue fever in the Townsville to Cairns area and that is just something I do not want to get!!! Sounds horrible and serious and not something that I would like to deal with at this point!!! So we spray and light the mozzie coils and candles and come in when it gets too bad which was about 7:30 tonight but at least we enjoyed the outside for a bit!

This is kind of a boring blog today—I will try to spice it up next time!!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
