How I am Spending My Time

10 Comments/ 94/ 1

Didn’t that title just draw you in? I know all of my readers are so interested in what’s going on in my life so today I thought I would give you a glimpse into what I am watching, reading, and listening to. You might be surprised.

First of all, I am still watching church on line. We are still a little bit shy about going back to in person church for some reason. I am sure that we can do it safely but we just haven’t. Let’s face it – it is convenient to watch online and I have several churches that I follow and that is kind of neat, actually. I can “attend” church multiple times on Sunday morning. Currently I watch my church here (Brevard United Methodist Church), my former home church (Fair View United Methodist Church), and my work church (Epworth United Methodist Church). So I am able to watch all of three of them and get my church on. We will go back in person soon but for now this works.

On television I am still working my way through Grey’s Anatomy and am on season 16. I love to find quirky documentaries so my latest find was The Chicken People on Amazon Prime. It was just that–quirky and fun. I loved it and found out a lot about chickens that I never knew before.

I have been listening to a lot of audio books and love the Audible Originals that are free. Many are fairly short and I can listen to them while driving to town for errands and knock them out. But physical books and e-books are also in my rotation. My mom used to love to read anything by Nicholas Sparks so this week I read The Wish. It was his usual style of book with a few twists, some romance, and a nice message. I think my mom would have loved it.

I like to listen to music when I am cooking or doing stuff around the house and I usually just ask Alexa to play something. This week was a rainy and gloomy week and one day I asked Alexa to play Music for a Rainy Day and I absolutely loved the play list that played. If you click here you can see what this playlist was composed of. Perfect for a rainy day.

I also love to listen to podcasts and have shared my favorites here many times. I just discovered 70 over 70 which is a great little podcast that highlights the stories of people who are over 70 years of age. I have a lot of episodes to listen to so it will keep me busy for awhile. You can listen to it here or on any podcast app that you use.

So there you have it. A little glimpse into my life and I know that you are all so happy to know these little facts. Hope you all have a wonderful week – don’t forget to leave me a comment and Comment for a Cause for Power Up.

    You are always learning…

Like you, we are not yet attending in-person church, opting instead to listen on the radio. COVID rates are still high in our county and few people are masking at church, so I just do not feel comfortable attending. I really miss my faith family.

Wow. I have read just 1 book so far this year. One. Maybe I should try audibles. But I have no cd player now that cars don’t have them anymore. I feel stuck in time.

I listen on my phone all the time. And on Alexa when I am in the kitchen especially. It’s all good, Dawn. You have other things going on !
