A recent visit to The Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina found me browsing in one of their many gift shops. I had seen this teapot before but did not buy it and this time I decided to go ahead and buy the one that had caught my eye previously.
The tea set called Vanderbilt Service is one that has been adapted from a design that is on display in the Oak Sitting Room at The Biltmore. I love this one, don’t you?
Delicate florals surrounded by gold makes this one a special one to pull out when a special friend stops by for tea.
Paired with a lemon poppy seed scone and some lemon curd and I am all set to go.
Pull up a chair and enjoy a cup with me. The water is on and the scones are hot and fresh.

Leave a commentI so enjoyed my visit to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville. It is wonderful to have such a collection of teapots and to be able to add to it by visiting such a special place. The Blue Ridge Mountains must have ben glorious this time of the year.
Thanks, Bernadette . It was such a hard decision because there were quite a few but this one seemed to be the one to add since it is patterned after their service. The colors were pretty this year but maybe not as pretty as last year. Thanks for stopping by!
I’ll be right over……..
It is a REAL beauty, btw…
A very pretty traditional teapot. Excellent for special occassions. It obviously spoke to you as it caught your eye on bth visits. I will be right over, in spirt anyway.
Beautiful teapot. Keep the water hot, I’ll be right down. 😉
If only I wasn’t so far away in Minnesota…I would.
Lovely. I love virtual tea parties. I like my tea with a hint of cream and sugar. I like my scones with a generous dallop of lemon crud.
YUMMY
That is beautiful.
I want all of that!! 🙂
The teapot, the scone, the lemon curd….that is all perfection right there!
It is beautiful, no doubt!
