Teapot Tuesday – Lovely in Blue

22 Comments/ 3169/ 3

Today’s teapot is one that I recently painted at Market 124. I absolutely love to go there and spend some time creating. I absolutely love to visit this store because there is always something new and fun.  I have written a couple of posts about them so you know that I love to stop by anytime I am down town in Mason City.

This time I took JeniEats and DonnaHup.com along. Well—let me rephrase that.  I took Jeni and Donna along but you know them by their blogs.

It was Donna’s birthday and I wanted to treat her to painting something and while I was there I had to do something to keep my own hands busy so I picked a teapot.  Big surprise, right?  This is what I came up with.

Bteapot3I picked some fun blues and went to work. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out once it was fired but wish I had made the yellow dots on the flowers a bit darker.  Next time….Bteapot

Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions,
And for a hundred visions and revisions,
Before the taking of toast and tea
T.S. Eliot

You are now officially a teapot artist. I am just surprised that you didn’t choose red. You know, every time I saw a teapot in Clear Lake, I thought of you. See how your teapot craziness has worked into my mind.

I did paint a red one there a few years back—it is the larger one and I did polka dots on it. This one needed a bit heavier hand on the yellow flowers but next time I will know how to do that . 🙂

I am getting more enamored with the color blue these days. Blue and yellow. Those are two that go together great, don’t you think?
