Every year new bears of the painted variety appear on Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina. We love to see them and see the creativity that goes into each and every one. Chris and I popped over to eat a nice outdoor lunch at our favorite restaurant, Never Blue, a couple weeks ago and of course I had to take a few shots of some of the cuties that line the street.

At the end of the season these bears are auctioned off for charity so you know that I love that idea. They never cease to make me smile when I see them. Which one is your favorite? Tell me all about it and don’t forget our Comments for a Cause is UMCOR for the month of September. For each comment made on any blog post we will donate 50 cents to UMCOR for their efforts internationally for disaster relief and more.

Leave a commentI love these and it was hard to pick a favourite. I especially like the momma bears with baby bears. The one with the guitars is my fvaourite!
My favorite is the the galaxy one. These are so awesome. And I love that they get auctioned for charity. What a great idea.
I like the bear with the NC attractions and the violin mama and baby.
All are wonderful- but I like “honey” the best! Do you know how much money they each generally raise?
These are so cute! Are they painted each year? Or stored and put out again each fall? THere’s a LOT of work on many of them, can’t imagine painting over all that and starting over again next year!
Well obviously I didn’t read this right. If they are auctioned off, then they are all new each year!
Yep! New ones every year. There are some that businesses keep but most are new!
You know how much I love outdoor public art, these bears no exception. I especially like that first sculpture. There’s a sweetness to it.
Honestly I can not pick just one. They all are amazing!!
Hard to choose one favorite, they are all colorful and pretty.
The bears are just gorgeous! Thanks for posting the pics!
