Write The Story – It’s Your Turn

4 Comments/ 101/ 1

Sometimes I see something that just screams “There’s a story here”.

I usually have my phone with me and can snap a picture and that was the case the other day.

I spied this car in a parking lot when I was shopping and snapped a quick picture.

As you can see there is a lot going on in this picture.

A convertible.

A bike on the back.

Tarps fully covering the back seat and the passenger  side of the front seat.

Multiple bungee cords.

So what do you think?

I would love to hear your “stories”.

So here is the deal.

Write me something about this picture.  Short or long.  Poem or short story. Serious or funny.  Whatever strikes your fancy.

After you are done writing email me your piece  – [email protected] – and I will publish posts featuring each submission and include links to your blog or website.  Just for fun.

Come on.  Get writing.  You know you have a story to share.

Don’t forget we are coming to the end of the month and the last few days to Comment for a Cause for UMCOR Hurricane Harvey Relief. Each comment on any blog post this month means a whopping $1 donation to UMCOR.  Click on the above link for more information.

I understand your desire to know the story here. But I expect it may be a sad one that is difficult to hear.

My longing for a life led more simple. No house in sight, the landscape a blight, a suburban metaphorical pimple. Downsizing nomadic fraternizing brings a grin to my face that highlights my dimple. My tarps keep out the rain, they keep me sheltered from my pain. My bike ensured I got to point c when I ran out of gas at point b. No matter to me, because I got away from point a. Maybe one day I’ll downsize again, whatever I can fit in a backpack I’d say. Once again ‘ll whimper, I long for a life led more simple.

Old Girls in Low Cotton
