Teapot Tuesday Goes to the Dogs

23 Comments/ 433/ 1

Who doesn’t love an animal themed teapot?  Today’s teapot features an Etsy find and is a Japanese Relco handprinted bulldog teapot.  These were quite popular in the 1940’s so I imagine that is most likely the time frame of this pot as well.teapot4

The lid has a little bit of a crack in it and the paint is rubbed off in various parts of the teapot but just look at the expression on this face.  I absolutely love it.teapot2

I think I love this teapot with all of its flaws and imperfections.  It has character and character I hear is a good thing to have.teapot3

I love your poster finish about tea being the solution to all problems. Very Zen.

I need a little calm in my life—hence the little poster quote. Have a peaceful day, Bernadette!

Yeah, definitely my least favorite of all the teapots you’ve featured here. “Character” fits.

I love me some dogs, but I’ll admit that this one looks kinda mean!

He does look a little intimidating, doesn’t he? Nothing like your sweet Nike!

Awww, this one is adorable for it’s character. I knew these two bulldogs once who were the sweetest dogs ever.

I do love bulldogs and even though this one looks a bit gruff I bet he would be a sweetie to pour tea from.

I always thought Micah would get one but instead a Corgi won his heart.

A bulldog and tea fun and creative combination! I am drinking buckets of iced tea during the dog days of summer.

I am right there with you, Katybeth. Tea of the iced variety is key to my summer .

That is one unusual teapot. I’ve never seen anything like it. Your tea solution sounds good to me.
