The Pottery Tour Continues

6 Comments/ 127/ 0

Are you tired of seeing pottery yet? This is my last post on pottery for awhile, I promise, but some of these pieces I took pictures of during our brief trip to Seagrove, NC just had to be shared.

The thing I love about pottery is that it can take on so many forms and shapes. The NC Pottery Center holds so many really great displays that help the lay person understand the history of pottery in NC. It is so well thought out and presented and I can’t recommend it highly enough. It really has some amazing displays and art.

So how about a look at some of the things I loved?

Right off the bat I saw a couple of bunny things, which if you know a little bit of my history, you know that I used to hide bunnies around my mom’s house.

The history of pottery is pretty amazing and there were multiple displays of the trends and of the beginnings of pottery in NC.

Who remembers seeing cigarette ashtrays like this years ago?

The Center has a lot of displays set up that are so well done.

But then there were pieces of pottery that I just loved. All over the place. Some for sale, some for display only, but all very wonderful.

See something you like? I bet you did. Thanks for taking a little walk through Pottery Lane with me. Leave me a comment and Comment for a Cause for Alzheimer’s Association.

Thanks Beth Ann for all the photos- which I looked at several times. I like the Sheepshead and the colorful display of vases? Pitchers? But, overall I prefer the porcelain to the pottery. Pottery would be fun to do yourself.
