Comments for a Cause — Supporting A Place Close to my Heart

43 Comments/ 957/ 1

June 1st and Comments for a Cause is what it is all about here on It’s Just Life.  Welcome to our way of giving back a little at a time.  This past month I was thrilled to highlight a new to me cause —Railway Children fund.  I had not heard of this charity until we watched the film  “Lion” .  It was not easy to watch this movie but it tells an important story.  You can read more about this Comments for a Cause by clicking here to read my original post.

Children always have my heart and this month I could not stop thinking about these “railway children” and what they must go through .  I am thrilled to announce that Chris and I are making a donation of $128.00  to help with the efforts of this organization to provide outreach to these children on the platforms.  A huge thank you to all who have commented so faithfully this past month to help our efforts in promoting good things in our world.

June means vacation time for many and I know that our summer is going to zoom by us.  With a wedding in August I am determined to make the most of each and every day.  That includes making the most of our family time in Lakeside, Ohio. I grew up going to East Ohio Annual Conference (United Methodist)  for a week every year located on Lake Erie in Lakeside, Ohio.  The tradition continued after Chris and I got married.  The week at Lakeside is time with family and reconnecting with friends.  It is my happy place .

With all the being said it seems only fitting that I choose to designate June’s Comments for a Cause to be The Lakeside Fund.  There is always something going on at Lakeside during the summer and donations made to the general fund allow for all kinds of wonderful things to continue to happen. Currently a new pool and wellness center are the center of fundraising efforts.  But it does not stop there.  Other areas that need attention include Hoover Auditorium, grounds care, the symphony, Splash Park, along with programming and beautification of Ohio’s Most Beautiful Mile.

So this month please help me support a place that I love and that I hold near to my heart.  I am not alone in my love of Lakeside and can not wait to visit again in a couple of weeks. For every comment made on ANY BLOG post you read during the month of June Chris and I will donate 50 cents to The Lakeside Fund.  We cap our donation at $500 a month so let’s see if we can set a record month for comments.
