The countdown to Christmas is on and I am jumping on the Christmas bandwagon. Or something like that.
When I read that my favorite new shop in Brevard, Burlap and Lace, is going to be part of a Vintage Christmas Crawl on November 11th from 10 am – 5 pm I got pretty excited. When I realized that I was actually going to be in town for it I was even more excited. You can not imagine how many events I want to go to but actually have to miss because of previous plans.
But this one – this one- I get to experience AND I get to take my BFF Ann. So I can not imagine a more perfect day.
The Vintage Christmas Crawl features 12 different shops from Brevard to Weaverville and while I have no idea if we will make it to all of them I do know that we will be starting at Burlap and Lace on Saturday morning, November 11th and making our best effort.
The participating shops are as follows:
Brevard, NC — Burlap and Lace
Roost
Mills River, NC — The Tin Roof
The Wagon Wheel
Biltmore Village, NC —- Biltmore Lamp and Shade Gallery
The Gardener’s Cottage
Asheville, NC — Rose’s Garden Shop
Chatsworth Art and Antiques
The Pink House
Thyme in the Garden
Weaverville, NC — Shop Around The Corner
The Cottage Door
I am thrilled to be able to participate in such a fun event and I know that even if I don’t buy a single thing (which is probably NOT going to be the case) it will be such great fun.
If you are in the area and want to stop in to check out a couple of the shops I am sure they will love to have you. You might even see another blog post about this, just saying.
Tell me, what do YOU love about the season? Are you excited or do you think it is too early to be excited about Christmas?Remember that all comments this month mean a 50 cent donation to Free Rein. You can read more about that by clicking here.

Leave a commentIf you are going to start the season before Thanksgiving this looks like a festive way to do it. And doing it with a BFF would be fun. Our tradition is to begin the Christmas festivities the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, these are local shops and I imagine captivating people before the busyness and Amazon desperation sets in is a good thing, And I bet some of those shops will have cookies and hot cider!
You are correct about the cookies and cider. At least I suspect that might fe some of the snack offerings that they are tempting us with. I am usually a wait until after Thanksgiving kind of gal as well but this was too fun to ignore.
Some of the. Hrutmas channels are all ready playing Christ7music on Sirius Xm so I’m all in for anything festive. Have fun crawling!
Digging out my knee pads now!
Looks like so much fun!! That’s a lot of shops to visit so by the end of the day, I’d BE crawling! Just kidding. One of my BFF’s and I are going to Christmas Open Houses this weekend too. 🙂
Oh fun! It must be the weekend for them, huh? And yes—we may be crawling by the end if we do all 12!
Have fun, Beth Ann! Enjoy your time with Ann.
Thanks, Marci! And you enjoy your birthday!!!
Sounds fun. Me? I’m having a hard time realizing it’s November much less that Christmas is so near.
I totally agree. How can it even be November?
I always enjoy these events. Have fun and take pictures!
I am sure I will!!!!
I look forward to your follow-up story on this Vintage Christmas Crawl. I am curious as to the word “vintage” attached to this. What makes it vintage?
My favorite aspect of Christmas is time with my family, hopefully all three of my grown children and their families at our home some time during the holidays. I’m not sure that will happen this year, but I am hopeful it will.
I think the shops are all antique type of shops so vintage items for sale. Doe that make sense? Hope your family will all be home for the holidays. We won’t have the whole crew this year but we will muscle through. 🙂
Happy Crawling! It’s always fun to find gifts in lil’ boutique shops…
Thanks! I think it will be a blast!
This sounds like so much fun! They had an event like this in historic Blowing Rock when we were there over the summer. All the little shops had food and drinks from different countries and lots of sales too. I found a few things to take home with me. 🙂
Ooh that sounds like so much fun! I love it when they have events like this and hopefully I will find some special deals as well.
I usually don’t like rushing the season, but, having retweeted one of those online appeals on behalf of a dying child…Little Jacob Thompson of Maine wants to celebrate Christmas now.
Aw–I have not seen the Jacob Thompson story. Will have to look that one up. Merry Christmas early!
